“He could bench press the concept of loss”

Obituary

GigaChad was a heavily edited photograph of a chiseled, impossibly stoic man — based on a Russian fitness model named Ernest Khalimov — who became the internet's vision of the perfect male specimen. He was the pinnacle of the chad hierarchy, the point where the meme stopped being about social dynamics and became pure mythology: a man who drinks concrete, fears nothing, and has never once been wrong. He died in 2021, not from mockery but from ascension — he became a symbol, then a religion, then a joke about the symbol, then he faded into the general language of 'that's what peak performance looks like.' He remains, somewhere, benching the moon.
