Bad Luck Brian was a 2006 yearbook photo of Kyle Craven: a kid with a strained smile, a tucked-in sweater vest, and the face of a man who has already lost the raffle. In 2012 it became the official portrait of misfortune — 'Finds a $20 bill, it's counterfeit,' 'Wins the lottery, loses the ticket.' Brian survived the meme and grew up to be a reasonably lucky man, which is the one good joke the universe ever told about him. The meme died in 2014, outlived by the sweater vest.
