Shooting Stars was a song by Australian duo Bag Raiders, released in 2009 and resurrected in 2017 as the internet's favorite edit: a video of anything — a cat, a lawnmower, a person falling out of a window — slowed down, floating gracefully through space, stars whooshing past, while the song's dreamy arpeggio played. It was the meme of making everything majestic, and it turned the most mundane footage into cinematic art. It died in 2018 when the edit format ran its course, but it remains the gold standard of the 'floaty thing in space' genre. Nothing has floated as majestically since.
