Born from a 2007 episode of LazyTown, We Are Number One became an anthem of defiance in 2016 when fans learned its performer, Stefán Karl Stefánsson, was fighting pancreatic cancer. The internet remixed the song into the ground and raised over a million dollars for his treatment. The meme died with him on August 21, 2018. It is the only meme in this cemetery that left with its dignity fully intact.
