Confused Travolta was a moment from the 1994 film Pulp Fiction — Vincent Vega, briefcase in hand, looking around a room with mounting bewilderment — resurrected in 2016 as the internet's reaction to walking into a situation and realizing you have no idea what's going on. It was the visual equivalent of 'I'll just be over here.' The GIF became a staple of group chats and comment sections, deployed whenever a conversation went sideways. It died in 2018, outlived by the film itself, which keeps looking around the room to this day.
