Arthur Fist took a single frame from the children's show Arthur — the aardvark, sitting at his piano, clenching his tiny fist in quiet rage — and made it the internet's official reaction to an unfair world. It was the portrait of restraint: you cannot scream, you cannot cry, you can only clench. 'When someone says they'll be there at 5 and it's 5:10.' 'When the wifi disconnects mid-call.' It died in 2020, during a year so unfair that the fist ran out of restraint. Arthur put his hand down. He had other things to clench about.
