In July 2010, Antoine Dodson gave an interview to a Huntsville news crew about a break-in at his family's apartment, and the interview was so perfectly, unintentionally musical that the internet autotuned it within days. 'Hide yo kids, hide yo wife, hide yo husband' became a charting single that made its subject famous, paid, and briefly beloved. It was the first great viral-video-to-music transformation, and it died in 2011 the way all one-hit viral songs die: the joke became the person, and then the person moved on with his life. The song remains a period piece of the early internet's most gleeful accident.
