Yeet was a verb, a noun, an interjection, and eventually a feeling. It meant to throw something with maximum enthusiasm and minimum regard for where it lands, which is also a perfect description of the meme itself. It spent 2018 and 2019 being yeeted into every sentence it didn't belong in, and died in 2020 when adults started using it. The moment a word is adopted by parents, its soul departs. It was yeeted. It is resting.
