OK Boomer was two words that ended approximately four million arguments and started approximately four million more. It was born on TikTok in October 2019, briefly became the subject of a New Zealand parliamentary hearing, and died the moment a major brand used it in a commercial. Nothing kills a counterculture rallying cry faster than a corporate sponsorship. It is survived by every argument it was ever deployed in.
