LOLcats were photographs of cats with captions written in a broken dialect: 'I can has cheezburger?', 'Invisible bologna', 'Ceiling cat is watching you'. They were the first meme to make a cat a noun, and the first to make broken English a language. They died in 2011, not from disuse but from institutionalization — the day a corporation ran the caption contest, the dialect became a product, and the cats became employees. Ceiling cat saw it coming. Ceiling cat sees everything.
