Blinking White Guy was a video editor named Drew Scanlon, caught on camera during a Giant Bomb live stream looking off-screen with a slow, incredulous double blink — the universal expression of 'did that really just happen?' The clip was clipped, looped, and turned into the internet's go-to reaction for processing absurd information. It was used for bad takes, good takes, and the sound of a person's brain rebooting in real time. Scanlon took the fame with grace, appearing in a video where he watched his own face loop a thousand times. The meme died in 2019. The blink never did.
